Hi all,

I've got a shed that has an an ethernet cable wired through to the house and I would like to set up a more reliable wifi signal down there.

I've got two options: buy something cheap and use it in the shed, or buy something decent and use it in the house, moving the AP in the house to the shed.

There are a few laptops and phones connected to the wifi in the house but nothing is particularly heavy use - though personally I'd like my laptop to be able to transfer files across the network at more than a few megabytes per second if it's not too expensive. The AP we have is fine, just not brilliant; BT HomeHub 5 used as an AP not as a router.

If I go with the cheap option, I'd be looking at spending £30 or less. For expensive, I'd probably cap at about £100 as I don't use wifi too much myself - but may think about using Nvidia GameStream over wifi in the future.

In summary: AC or N? Dual band or single band? Any brands to avoid, any brands to go for?

Thanks.
