I've sold my Asgard 2 as I found it too similar to the C5D I had borrowed and got https://www.massdrop.com/buy/matrix-mini-i-dac-amp for transportable use. I'm thinking of getting a tube amp to complement that when it arrives and these are the few options I have been looking at.

- LDMK3

- Darkvoice 336SE

I can't get the crack kit and I am leaning towards the LDMK3 as the 336SE seems to have QC issues.

You do know that a tube amps sounds different than a ss amp and what do you mean by complement?

You do know that it is the tubes that makes the biggest difference between tube amps, so maybe look up the tubes they use and find out what tube fits your needs the most.

The Mini-i has an inbuilt amp which is SS and I want a tube one so that I can choose SS or tube whenever I feel like it.

Why start out with something that cost 320-330$. You could just get something like the schiit vali 2 and get a better tube if you want, unless you really need the extra power the other ones can provide.

So you want the HD 650 to be warmer in their sound?

Yes.

They are both good amps, but I think that the darkvoice is the most powerfull one. Look up the tubes they use and see if they have the roll off you like.

Darkvoice isn't available now, the LDMK3 stock tubes can be upgraded immediately as a purchase option and seems to be fairly reliable. Which one would be better for the 650 though?
