Any Ultrawide Suggestions

Go to solution Solved by Krzych,

There are currently no quality ultrawides with G-sync on the market, only zero quality control overpriced monitors from poor manufacturers, Asus and Acer that is, and there are no news of something new coming out with G-sync from any serious monitor manufacturer, so if you want to buy Pascal in future and not considering Polaris/Vega, you will have to stick to 60 Hz and no adaptive sync. And even if you would like to try your luck with those terrible Asus na Acer monitors, they are way off your budget with X34 being on $1300+ price tag, and PG348Q not even being available right now, and even if it is somewhere, its $1500+.

I suggest looking on LG 34UC88-B, which fits your $800-900 budget perfectly, and also reconsidering your GPU purchase, since you can get 75 Hz on this LG if utilizing FreeSync (FreeSync on 55-75 Hz range by default, hackable to 40-75 easily).

34" ultrawide market is very tricky and those monitors are very faulty, with gaming ones being exceptionally bad, and new LG models, 34UC88 and UC98, are only two models that managed to introduce some quality and get consistent good reviews, so I wouldn't suggest looking at anything else than those two models.

One model that I am yet not familiar with and it may be woth looking at is HP Envy 34c, but it doesn't fit your needs I guess. And it is VA panel and from my experiences Samsung S34E790C that also has VA panel, it just gets edged out by any IPS hands down in terms of picture quality.

I am in the market for a 34" 3440x1440 ultrawide monitor. Can be curved or not but curved definitely is preferred. I game so something with at least 75hz and up would be ideal and G-sync. My budget is probably around $800-900 ish because it is a little bit flexible. Cheaper the better of course but all suggestions within the price range are welcome!

Btw it will be powered by either a 980ti or a Pascal GPU, I haven't decided which I am going to buy yet due to pascal not being released yet but depending on which I decide on, a second GPU will be bought in October for SLI.

Thanks for any suggestions and let me know if you have any questions!

The only thing a curved ultrawide provides is tricking you to think that your not being ripped off.

I'd personally get the Acer x34, 34" 3440x1440p on 100hz G-sync if the price went down from $1500.
