Streaming PC

mbryant

So my friend wants to start streaming and recording game play from her consoles and asked me to put together a list, only things I NEED to know are can an i5 handle streaming and recording in 1080p and would a GTX 950 be fine OR could she get away with the integrated GPU? I've seen a lot of people build stream machines with the 4790k but I'm trying to save her as much money as I can. When I start putting a list together I keep upping what I think the specs should be because I build gaming/workstations.

System: i7 4790K, Hyper 212 EVO, 16 GB Crucial Ballistix, GTX 1070 Super clocked, MSI Z97S SLI Krait Edition, Corsair RM 750, Corsair 750D (with 2 additional 140mm NZXT fans up top for exhaust.)

I think you can get away with a i5. For optimal usage, i7-4790 (or K for overclocking), stick with intergrated graphics unless your gaming on it, and 8gb of ram in dual channel (16 gb is pretty cheap these days though), WD Black for recording or SSD. And other stuff should just be preferences.

Yeah I already knew to get her a black drive ( I love mine) I might skip the SSD because it isn't CRICUAL but I'll highly recommend to her to get it, she won't be overclocking it, I kind of went back and forth with the RAM, I knew 16GB would be a bit much ( again I'm building from a gamers/ editor's view)

here xeon's igpu p4600 is enough to full fill your needs until you are not gaming , and xeon e3-1246 is best processor for budget cpu with igpu also it has hyperthreading and it also have 8 threads which states it is preety much bad a$$ in computing power which is require for good streaming and i would say if you can then put a ssd  ,and rest all parts are perfect for streaming

thanks! but I think she will use the rig for gaming at some point, which is why I decided on the skylake i5, but I'll ask her again
