Consumer Printers

Question. I know nothing  about printers and my brothers girlfriend is looking to buy one. She's probably looking under $150. What do you sugges5?

What is she going to use it for?
Printing texts or printing nice looking photos and text

If you only need black and white, I recently purchased a Brother HL L2360DW for tax docs(Cartridge on the old printer went out and replacement cost more than the new printer).  I plugged in the Ethernet port to my router and can print from laptops.  It is also Apple Airport compatible and google print compatible.
