NAS Newb

Spontaneously decided to put together a parts list for a household file storage NAS. It was at that moment that I realized, I have no idea how to make a NAS. I am soft on my decision to go with the Define Node 304, and am open to suggestion, but I do want a significant amount of redundancy, where I currently have 4x2tb WD-Red drives to be put in RAID 10, with a tiny 120gb ssd for the OS.

As far as I got. What mobo can I use that has enough SATA ports for all of these drives? What cpu should I get, if it just needs to move files, can't it just be a budget AMD 4-core with a high enough clock? All items must be picked with minimizing the budget in mind, except for the drives. I refuse to skimp out on the storage drives.

Thanks in advance,
