Hey I was wondering how good these builds are and if there were better parts to use instead.
I have two builds one AMD and one Intel. My budget is 800 but going a little over isn't the worst thing. Keyboards/mice/windows aren't needed. This will mainly be used to game or watch videos. I love to mod games so it needs to be able to handle heavily modded games like skyrim and fallout as well as games like darksouls and the like.

AMD build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/cZJkGX

Intel build: http://pcpartpicker.com/p/6FGjYJ

I'm more leaning towards the AMD build but I don't really know which cpu would work better as an AMD one lets me have a better graphics card.
Which one should I go with, how can it be made better without raising the price, and can it be made cheaper without reducing it?
^_^ Thanks for the help.

intel build. the jump fron 380x to 970 isnt significant enough to sacrifice your cpu over, though gigabyte isnt great for amd cards (voltage locked), and you should definitely get a better psu

I honestly think you're going the wrong away about it. This is a budget gaming rig, yes? So why not drop that RAM to 8GB? You're not really in the ideal position to be running it in quad channel.

Drop the storage to a 1TB HDD and you can easily afford a i5 + R9 390 combo. WITH a decent PSU. You can also easily afford a 240GB SSD if you wish.

I can see where you're coming from. But why go with the caviar over the seagate? it's more expensive is it better in anyway? Is there a reason you went with the powercolor and not gigabyte? Also is it worth it to try to get the i5-6600K would that do to much more?

It's a $5 difference. Both have the same reliability and quality. I just picked the WD because it was the first link that popped up :P

I would focus on GPU power. While a i5 6600K would be nice, you should be fine with the i5 6500. Just save the cash - you're gonna go over budget with a i5 6600K, Z170 with a decent aftermarket cooler.

I didn't pick Gigabyte for two reasons; firstly, their AMD cards are voltage-locked and secondly, their cooling is not good and is mediocre at best. While the Sapphire Nitro would be the best choice, the Powercolor is currently cheaper by a good $20, hence why I picked it.

Nice, thanks. If you don't mind what do you think the performance of this would be? My monitors are 1920 X 1080 and as I said I like to beef up my games a lot. If I were to throw up to 50 more bucks in where do you think it would best go?

I wouldn't be surprised if you got a solid 60FPS at 1080p on Ultra settings for most games.

If you were to throw an extra $50, I would invest into a SSD like the Samsung 850 EVO 250GB.

^_^ Alright thanks for your timely assistance, one last question I just noticed, you changed from a Gigabyte GA-H170M-D3H to a Gigabyte GA-H110M-AAny reason for this, better overall or just cheaper?

Purely because it was cheaper. Feel to free to change it back. The H110 on has two RAM slots whereas the H170 has four.

I feel cheaper is better in this case, if I use two 8 gigs I don't think I'll need more than 16 gigs for a while. ^_^ Alright thanks for your help man, hope you have a good day.
