Is it modular? If so then just get a custom cable, but your idea seems to work.

He posted a link to the PSU.... It's not modular.

@Legolessed It should work. All info I can find on the PSU shows a SATA power connector. Still, if it only has molex, this will work. I use a similar solution in my system to avoid needing a dedicated Sata harness.

some thing like this:  http://bit.ly/26iaehq

its just a 6 pin sata power cable that plugs into the back... which I dont know if your psu is modular or not.

e: or just search 6 pin sata power cable or something like that

That is a server PSU. It is not the one that is meant to be used in a personal home computer. You need a PSU in the ATX form factor.

Use PCPP to find a good one: https://pcpartpicker.com/parts/power-supply/

It depends what system it's for. It's made by Delta, which is one of the most reliable OEMs in the PSU market. They don't really make anything bad.

Forgive me for my misreading, I was thinking as if you were using a custom PSU by Corsair or EVGA,

you might as well just buy it again or even return it because its only $10

scroll down. it only has a 4 pin, 6 pin, 8 pin, and 20 pin cables. i meant the molex connecter on the motherboard.

i can still return the psu. or if its okay for servers which i dont get because it doesnt have a sata power cable im thinking about making a small server to host a minecraft server that all my friends can play on so i could use this. im looking for a psu under $20 that can power my computer http://pcpartpicker.com/p/JBzBQ7.

Im joking but hat seems like a fire hazard since i have never heard of delta before plus its only $10, a PSU isnt something you want to cheap out on because it could ruin your entire computer.

Delta isn't really a consumer facing company, so they're not well known to most. However, they tend to outclass even Seasonic in terms of reliability. Definitely not a shitty OEM.

I might be being blind, but I don't see a Molex connection on the board. Even if there was, it's almost always an input when it's on a board, rather than an output.

Yes also with your prebuilt computer you don't have very many options, so I geuss it should be fine.

What's your maximum budget for the PSU? You can get something semi-decent for what you want to do for $30, or probably less if you look for pre-owned units.
