LED strip setup

I want to setup an RGB LED strip on the back of my desk to give it a cool look, but I'm really not sure how to do that or which strip would be the best to use.

If your want to DIY it getting a kit from Amazon is a good option, the main thing with setting up LED's is not actually having a direct line of sight to the LED's themselves as they are very bright but for them to cast the light out in this case to the back wall or along the desk to give it that glow.
