i brought a strix r9 380, but after i install it none of the outputs work, now if i unistall it, then the on board graphics works just fine albeit without drivers ,btw the computer boots normally with the ded. gpu installed i mean it turns on all fans, the hdd shows activity, i simply dont have video output

i already uninstalled the old drivers with that tool from 3d guru, and i did it on safe mode

everything is well connected as far as i can tell,

i have a 500w evga power supply

i set the pci as the display output on the uefi

and my pc is:

i5 4460

2x4gb ram  kingston hyperx

asus h81m-k

wb blue 500gb

Are you sure you're connecting the cables on the GPU while it's connected and not the iGPU? I mean, You've got the GPU connected but using the iGPU?

Also, forgot to mention. Sounds stupid of me to ask, but have you connected the PCI-E connectors for GPU?

ive seen a lot of people simply forget to plug those in. (especially with how many low to mid range GPUs run solely off of the power provided from the slot.

Do you have a friend you can try the card in his/her computer? If you don't, just return the card. It's a great excuse anyway because you should stay away from Asus and Gigabyte when it comes to AMD cards. If you do get rid of it, go for Sapphire, MSI or XFX.

Asus in every system ive ever worked on had some sort of quirk. :/ usually just something stopping you from making the whole build plug and play. :/ never had any issues with gigabyte though.

Sapphire. <3

oh~

is your PSU modular? if it is did you forget to connect the power cables for it in the back as well? ive done that a few times.

it isnt modular, in any case the card has a led next to the 8 pin connector, and i think it shows a red light in case you forget to connect it

finally found the solution, i dont know if should necro this thread but im going to anyway, in case someone else comes looking for the fix:

the thing is that the the graphics card doesnt work on windows 10 with the stock bios even though it claims to >:|, it is detected as a graphics adapter but drivers wont recognize it, the solution is to install this bios update, normal 2gb, oc 2gb, normal 4gb, oc 4gb (if you dont know which version you have, look a the bottom of your box the gpu came in , on the third part dc2 mean normal and dc2oc mean overcloked version, and then on the fourth part 4gd5 means 4 gb of vram and 2gd5 mean only 2)

now asus claims that the bios update simply improves overcloking, by which they mean it takes the vrm temps intro account when controlling the fans but theres never a mention of the win 10 problem at all

from there on out it works perfectly, i installed it on a different computer running win7, but is guess you could do it on the same pc by following these steps:

-unistall the gpu

-go to bios

-inside the bios there should be an option to use the integrated graphics card (igpu) as the primary device, on the asus uefi the procces is from the "ez mode"(the main uefi screen) go to advanced mode>then on the advanced mode go to the advanced tab>system agent configuration>select the igpu as the primary graphics adapter

-save and then shutdown the pc

-install the gpu

-make sure you are using the video output from the motherboard, one of these

-when windows boots up, install the bios update and then the drivers

-shutdown

- go to the bios and do the same as in step 3 but select the dedicated gpu somethimes pci device as the primary graphics adapter

-then save and reset, and it should work just fine
