So here I go,

About a week ago I built my first duel CPU workstation and it runs absolutely fine, benchmarks are good and its stable but there is...a few problems.

PC Specs

  • CPU2x Intel Xeon E5 2670
  • Motherboardsupermicro X9DRL-if
  • RAM16GB
  • GPUGTX 980

Operating SystemWindows 10

First problem:

Every single time I shut down my PC, when I turn it back on in the morning it boots, every thing seems to be working...but even before it got to the login screen it BSOD (the error is ACPI_BIOS_ERROR) the fix I have found is to remove the cmos battery but I don't want to do that eveytime i turn on my PC. (Ones its booted its fine, no BSOD its ran benchmarks for 24h+ without any problem)

Second problem:

Windows 10 animation lag, this this is super weird but everything inside a "window" (its the best way i can explane it) works fine, animations are fine performance is fine but if i open a new window or open the start menu or hover over an open application icon to see a preview of the window on the task bar, windows animations goes to shit everything drops to like 2 fps for a couple seconds whilst the animation plays and it is fucking annoying. now i think it has something to do with a virtual Video adapter (which i did try to uninstall but it did't make a difference) which gets me in to my third problem.

Third Problem:

To see my BIOS screen i have to plug in to the VGA on the motherboard, it doesn't sent it thou the dedicated GPU. but knowing that a bios setting just needed changing (i have had this happen on a different computer) I found it and disabled the on bored GPU and booted...cool it worked and i could see the BIOS screen on the GPU now...but the motherboard did't post, it got to post code 91 before freezing. tried a couple other thing but nothing worked.

Fourth Problem:

The boot times (This have nothing to to with windows 10) The motherboard takes like 30 seconds all the way up to a minute just to post I don't know if this is normal on server motherboards or not, but it also shows like 3 to 6 splash screens (the screens that say DEL to enter setup, F12 to network boot) with a good 10 second delay between them.

if you need any photos or videos of the problems just say

Thanks TheDev
