Looking to do a new build.

RedPls

I'm currently looking at something like this: http://au.pcpartpicker.com/p/vVcQjX

Is this a fairly decent build?

Budget and Location:

~$2600 AUD total.

Aim:

Mainly for gaming

Monitors:

Only going to use one Monitor since my desk isn't big enough for two or more.

Peripherals:

Only need a keyboard, preferably with Cherry MX switches. Already have a headset and a mouse.

Why am I upgrading?

Well because I only have an Acer Aspire ultrabook and it sucks to game on and is quite slow. :x

Spoiler

1) how bout a kraken x61 for the cpu cooler? would personally go for air cooler though :P

2) would swap the gtx 970 out for an r9 390, more raw gpu horsepower, better performance overall

3) get a better psu, like the EVGA G2/GS 550W

4) get windows cheaper from other sources

5) would personally go with 60hz IPS panel than 144hz TN panel, but im just a casual gamer and i think better colours is better than smoothness :P

6) its always best to buy a keyboard after you try it out, especially for the switches type, also consider software bonus when buying a mech keyboard

-sigh- feeling like I'm being too negative lately

I really think your build's solid, just not quite as cost effective as it could be.

Changed the PSU, since the EVGA Nex PSUs are nothing to write home about, while the XFX TS Gold PSUs offer fantastic Seasonic quality for a fair price.

Furthermore, if you're willing to spend so much money for a gaming PC you shouldn't go for anything but the best graphics card.

Sorry about the super late reply, was really busy yesterday.

To be honest, I'm quite reluctant to go with AMD since I've had quite bad experiences in the past with them.

Though that being said, I can always live off the iGPU (Intel HD530. It's way better than the HD4400 my ultrabook currently has.) until I can afford a better dGPU like the 980Ti, but that's too expensive at the moment.

Am I better off changing the NEX 650W to a G2 550W PSU?
