Installed a SSD into a laptop and need help

yoshiii

Hello

I replaced the stock hdd from a Asus ROG laptop with a 480GB ssd.

It has split the drive into two C for the OS and D for data.  Problem is that the OS part partitioned 178gb of the 480 GB and is using 53GB of that.  Drive D partitioned 247GB of the 480 GB ssd.

When I installed a ssd into my desktop system, it did not do this.

How do I set the ssd to show everything as one drive?

Also, did you install windows to the SSD while it was in the laptop?

Hello I put a Toshiba, CFM or something like that.

I was able to get rid of the extra partitions and get it set right.

I had to use Asus's Backtracker software.  Made a boot drive with a usb flash drive. Had to install the Backtracker onto the usb flash drive.  Installed ssd and start laptop with the usb flash drive already inserted into the laptop.  This was Asus's instructions.

Thank you.

Learned how to use cmd to go into disk partition, etc.

Also learned how to do it from the disk management page.
