Points,  ideas?

I know ideally I would use a blower card, they don't ship the blower 390X to the UK, I don't think a 970 will last too long with VR and the 980 is out of my price range for the blower cooler versions. Also the reason for the dual SSD's is not so much for speed, but because this rig will be going on 300 mile train journeys with me which will include the London underground, gonna take a few bumps at rush hour, don't want to get to the other end with a £1200 paper weight coz my HDD is upset.

I would really stay far away from Asus with the 390 series. If you already bought the card that's fine, but if not I'd get something else. Even a Sapphire 390 is better than the Asus 390x for longevity and cooling purposes if that's more in your price range. Other than that, excellent choices! Intel + AMD GPU is best setup for mid range builds IMO :)

Card length is an issue for the ITX build, sapphires is too long, the only two I found that fit are that one and the gigabyte one, which the reviews say is aweful

What about XFX or MSI? Gigabyte had bios issues which were resolved

XFX at least in the UK is too long, MSI is a 3 slot card so it too wide, and the gigabyte cooler isn't good apparently.

Lol dude. I just saw a build on that site with similar parts which used a MSI 390. I'd stay away from gigabyte and Asus which are lackluster AMD card vendors.

and the card fit? after speaking with corsair (380t) they have said max is 42mm card width, MSI 390X is wider

I'm sure they will only get cheaper.

Here's a used one with a disgusting cooler for £360 as well for good measure.

Think I'd rather spend the extra on the EVGA one...

Also not sure they will as they are being discontinued to move over to the new pascal cards.
