Cause i realize that only think i know what i'm doing, so halp pls, maybe?

So here's in my idea for a half decent build (first build):

http://pcpartpicker.com/p/HhbBQ7

i didn't include a monitor cause i'll use my tv (1080p). My budget is around $1400 dollars, and i live in Mexico City, meaning some brands but not all, but i could order things from amazon or something. I'll use it mainly for gaming but i also wanna try some video editing in the future. Thanks in advance guys.

The problem is that this is an nVidia product and scoring any nVidia product a "zero" is also highly predictive of the number of nVidia products the reviewer will receive for review in the future.

1) Significantly better single thread performance, and comparable multi-core performance. The i5 is really a wildly better choice than the FX-9370.

2) Doesn't really matter in games, and easier and more compatible upgrade to 16GB RAM, requiring half the number of sticks than a 2x4GB kit.

No Fractal Desing Cases where i live bro, also, why that CPU over the AMD one?

You can change the case to whatever ATX case you want, it doesn't really matter. This CPU is the latest generation that just came out in 2016. The AMD 9370 is from 2013 and is 3 years old. You're going to get much faster performance with something that is 3 years newer. Try using a phone that is 3 years old compared to what we have today and you can already tell the difference. Also with the z170 platform you get all the latest modern features like PCIE gen 3, DDR4 memory, PCIE SSD's and more.

Overclocking isn't really worth it. You need a more expensive CPU, motherboard, cooler, PSU and memory to actually overclock and get a decent boost. Even at that, reaching a decent OC requires luck. Not worth all the costs involved.

Asus GPUs... I'm conflicted, but I wouldn't spend my money on it. There has been complaints about their GPUs. Pick a Sapphire or an MSI model.

Everything else looks good. ^_^

I was thinking on using stock speeds anyways.
So you would choose the Sapphire Nitro R9 390 instead?

It uses a little more power than the Asus, with has a slightly lower clock speed; but on the flip-side, better price and a OpenGL 4.5 (don't really know if it worth it) and is like 20% cheaper. Thanks for the advice, it's been really helpful.

Absolutely. Sapphire makes arguably the best Radeon GPUs on the market. :D

You could scale back on the cpu cooler. If you are going for a silenced orientated build then look at the Noctua D15S.

A 120GB SSD will fill up really quickly. I would try and stretch to a 240GB/250GB.
