cpu Cpu Blade and Soul.

Hello.

 

I'm currently trying to upgrade my computer to play a game named. Blade and soul

This game is highly Cpu dependent and only works on a single core, 

Well watching endless videos and reading forums i just don't understand 

what would be a good cpu for the game if cores does not matter. (I know more would be better for back ground programs)

And after reading endless postes and bios between AMD and Intel I'm simple more confused, 

I have around 700$Canadian for a motherboard/cpu

No AMD CPUs, it's fine but not as good as Intel in B&S. I own an AMD CPU and played the game.

CPU: AMD FX-8350, Same one i was looking at, And 

CPU INTEL|CORE I5 4690K 3.5G 6M R Configurator

But all the tests i'm finding are one entire cpu and idk how strong the cores are individually

then i highly suggest going with skylake, it has the best single threaded performance now

for games, single threaded performance are often more important than having more cores

because games normally run on less than 4 cores, so having extra cores would be just having those extra cores sitting there doing nothing

thus having faster single core would yield better gaming performance

 

though DX12 is supposed to increase multithreaded performance in gaming, but we'll have to wait and see

for now, intel skylake has the best gaming performance for mid-range to high end products

AMD are the typical go to for budget around an i3 system, depending on what you do

this is because AMD have yet to renew their cpu lineup in a while, and AMD Zen is coming soon

what about ram? skylake supports DDR4 or DDR3L

if you wanna use your existing DDR3, haswell are great as well, not much performance difference compared to skylake

1504 vs 2223 for single core, the i5 beats the amd chip

 

both are unlocked so they can be overclocked further and the gap will widen

the i5 should overclock further if you have a moderate cooler, since it has a lower tdp

but as always, OC depends on your luck

Blade and Soul is very poorly optimized. 

 

Utilizes like no GPU power at all. 

 

I can run it fine on my FX CPU until I get in an area with a bunch of other players, frames will drop to 30 ish when fighting a world mob with 5+ other people there.

1) you probably dont need aftermarket thermal compound, i recommend using whatever comes with your cpu cooler first, save some $$

2) you're lacking a cpu cooler, the 6600k doesnt come with one in the box

3) dont get the V300 ssd, it has issues, more on this here, i recommend getting the 850 evo instead, pricier but is much more reliable

4) lots of parts missing, like case and psu, gpu and cpu cooler

5) might wanna add an gpu, unless you're fine using the iGPU for now

get an air cooler or a 240mm water cooler,

single 120mm or 140mm rads arent that great, better off with an air cooler lol
