need help looking for good new motherboard

I have a i7 4790k (LGA 1150 socket) and a crossfire setup, what is a good motherboard for me to get that is also a good price?

some people just want to get a decent board for their rig, and budget isnt an issue

but they dont want anything overkill like asus ROG that frankly, isnt a good value if you're not using their features

 

and to be fair, i havent seen an $3000 motherboard for the average consumer

im looking for a new mobo only because my current (even when it says crossfire supported) has 2 16x pcie but when both are being used one of them is limited to 4x, which is not a compatible speed for the new AMD, it needed to be 8x.

yea i checked the manual, and yea its CF compatible (https://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z97KCSM/)

try configuring the bios for both card to have 8x 8x

since your cpu supports 16 pcie lanes

 

did you plug it in the right slot?

perhaps you installed a card that uses pcie lanes? put it in another slot?

or maybe m.2 drives if you have any

 

check the manual properly before buying a new board
