Would a 4GB GTX 960 with an Overclock be VR Ready?

"VR Ready" is not a simple term. but if you go with Oculus rift and its recommendation then you need a 970 at least, and as far as a 960 goes, you can overclock it with water all day and night and it still wont do it.

My friend is buying a GTX 960 4GB and he is wondering after a little overclocking would it be VR ready?

I don't think so since the minimum requirement for VR is a GTX 970. Even the 970 had trouble keeping up those framerates. So, no, my friend.
