start up

how do i open the start up settings in windows 10.  i want to turn off some programs to make windows load faster, without buying an ssd. any other ways to make that happen would be appreciated.

I doubt theres much in it you should turn off thats not inconvenient. You can go into the startup program folder (somewhere in appdata/windows/startmenu/startup or something like that) and take out the shortcuts/links or you can use a 3rd party tool.

What cpu/hdd and whats the boot time?

thanks! its been a long couple of days. but moreover, my brain is about 1/2 fried. i have second stage CRS! LOL.

i have not actually measured boot time. i just knew that i screwed up on installation and did not remove the start up check from the box when i installed them. this is a new system, intel i5 6500, 16gb ram, 1tb wd blue. its pretty quick, especially compared to the old tank i was using. i could play 3 games of solitaire before it finally booted up! i just want this to be fast as possible. until Christmas. i will get a small ssd then for a boot drive.

It's moved to task manager since windows 8. Clean install Windows 10 is you've upgraded to windows 10, that way it would create less problem in the future
