Dell XPS - the Macbooks won't be good for anything except portability. Gaming is a nightmare, editing takes eons, battery life is not as good as ThinkPads, specs are anything but "premium" and they regularly overheat

I would suggest the Zenbook UX303. My config has a 940m, i7 5600U, 12GB, 1TB SSHD (Though you can get it with an SSD)

It's a great machine. Very, very good price to performance ratio, 13.3" touch screen, very good port selection, full metal body, very nice design...

Under normal load, without me trying to save battery, I manage around 6.5 hours of battery life. It also has enough horsepower for what I need to do on the road.

Have a look at it...

That's about half of what the XPS can do, though. The 960M is roughly twice the performance and the 6700HQ is a MUCH better bet for video editing

You're talking about the 15 inch XPS; not the 13 inch XPS which is a direct competitor to the Zenbook. Of course you can fit more hardware into a larger body.

I could get two of the zenbooks (I got mine for around 900$) for the highest end config for the XPS 13 from the Dell site, which is vastly inferior to the zenbook in terms of hardware.

OP is looking at the XPS15 - no idea why you are talking about the XPS13

Games with FPS on the 2015 MacBook Pro with 6100 iris graphics:

That is actually cancerous framerates for CSGO. I have no clue how people even play CSGO at 30 fps. And most probably that cannot run GTA V.

I disagree. I mac the 15" retina MacBook Pro with dedicated graphics. i can run many games at ~60FPS, and Final Cut Pro is amazing on even the 12" macbook, my battery lasts 6+ hours (even with the discrete GFX on).

T450S lasts 15 hours on max load on battery, X260 lasts 17 hours. Macs cannot touch ThinkPads in that regard

60fps on an unknown game? Even my Intel HD 4600 gets 120fps in an unknown game!
