Hey guys, soon its my friends 15th  birthday and some of us have decided to ascend him and make a gaming pc on cheap. we planned to either go LGA775 or LGA1156. The pc is going to consist of parts we find on ebay or our old parts

 

Spec List:

-Case: Minitower computer case - £5

-CPU: Intel I5 661 - £0 Was in computer case

-Motherboard: Biostar TH55B - £0 Was in computer case but faulty displays no video not tested with dGPU

-Gpu: Gigabyte 7790 2Gb - My old Gpu

-Ram: 8Gb 1600Mhz - £10

-Hard drive: 750gb laptop drive - From dads laptop as he upgraded it to a SSD

-Psu: The 355W PSU from the case Or my old Novatech 500W PSU

-Monitor: 4:3 Dell monitor from other friend

-Keyboard/mouse: Dell stuff

 

Total: £15

The Gpu: £60 when i got it

PSU: £20

HDD: around £15 

Monitor KB/M £20

Overall Total: £140 If we potentially need a new Mobo it would total to £160-170) 

 

• The Computer was originally bought just for the case as it was close to us and the cheapest, anything that worked was a bonus as it was sold a for parts. we expected a pentium and we got a i5 if the motherboard works with a dGPU then we more or less got a working pc for £5 a massive win if not then we do have enough to get a working motherboard. we also got 8gb of ram from the same seller

 

• Gpu was from my Pc before i got my uncles old 290x that was used to bitcoin mine and its just been collect dust since. 

 

• Hard drive was from my dads laptop after i upgraded it to a SSD he had put it off for about a year so i eventually did it

 

• PSU i dont know how much power the system will draw but i suspect 355W wont be enought so i can swap the 500W from my seconadry pc in to this pc

 

• Monitor and KB/M are from my friend that had them spare
