I have an HP pavillion dv6 laptop that I use for school, programming, note taking and some light gaming. I've noticed that recently it has been getting slower. A while back I had to return it under warranty and they sent me a new model. There only difference between the two laptops was the memory; the original had 2 sticks of 4 GB ddr3, but the new one has one stick of 4 and one stick of 8. Should this effect the performance at all, and will there be any benefit to buying a new kit of memory (2 x 8 GB ddr3).
