Building first PC and want opinions on parts list

JaredB

My current store bought PC is dying on me, so I'm building my first PC, and I want opinions on what I'm planning before I buy everything.

I dont have an exact budget but my guess is that before shipping the PC itself without periferals will be somewhere around 1500$ before tax and shipping

It will be used for Hardcore Gaming, Game Recording, and Video Rendering, I am also going to get a monitor and GeForce 3D Vision in the near future once I have the PC built. I have 2 monitors currntly a 42" 720P TV, a 42" 1080P Apple Monitor, but I plan on buying a 3D ready monitor in the future.

I will buy new periferals later, but not until the new PC is ready.

I am going to get Windows 8 for it.

I already own an SSD and 2 HDDs, and a blu-ray/DVD optical drive which I'm going to gut from my old PC.

I'm going to go with 2-way SLI, but I'm not sure if I should buy 2 of the same or 1 of each, so let me know what you think.

I DO plan on overclocking once I have it built, so PLEASE leave some overclocking suggestions if you have a similar build, because this will be my first attempt at overclocking.

Also let me know if you think I should get a weaker or stronger power supply.

It's proably a good idea to mention that I;m going for an overall white / blue color scheme, so if you can try and keep suggestion within that.

OK, so here is what I plan on buying:

Case: NZXT Phantom 820 Full ATX Steel Case 4X5.25 6X3.5 2XUSB3.0 Audio and Mic Input Fan Control - White

CPU: Intel Core i5 3570K Unlocked Quad Core Processor LGA1155 3.4GHZ Ivy Bridge 6MB Retail

Power Supply: Corsair Gaming Series CMPSU-800G 800W ATX Power Supply Active PFC 140mm Fan *3 Year Wrty*

If I am correct this should all be compatible, but I'm wrong, then PLEASE PLEASE PLEEEAAASE let me know before I screw up.

EDIT: Since I might as well, I'll list the periferals I plan on getting later:

Mouse: Corsair Vengeance M65 Performance FPS Laser Gaming Mouse 8 Buttons 8200DPI - White

Keyboard: Filco Majestouch 2 Ninja Cherry MX Blue Switch 104 Key Mechanical Keyboard Black

*If you want to suggest a keyboard, note that I WANT a Cherry MX BLUE keyboard, and preferably one that has either a white / blue or no backlight.

Headset: Corsair Vengeance 1100 Communication Headset 40MM Driver USB + Analog

* I already own a good expensive gaming headset, I just want one like this for chating, and recording.

Thanks.

Go for both the same GPU, it will look cleaner and generally much more epic :D

Also I would suggest the 3770k because your doing SLI.

^+1 and change the motherboard out. Way to much on the motherboard. Look at a MSI Z77A-GD55/65

change the PSU its just a more expensive CS series get somthing like an Antect High Current Pro/Platinum, Seasonic X/Platinum series or a Corsair AX series Also I would highly suggest changing to a Radeon HD 7950 (like this one Sapphire 100352-2L) it costs about the same but performs noticably better on most situations

and get one of these instead of the H100 Phanteks PH-TC14PE_BL

give a man a gun he robs a bank, give a man a bank he robs the world
