Hey guys. I have a $500 - $600 budget and am looking for a Laptop, not for extreme gaming, more for running Visual Studio, Unity,  etc.  I also am open to the idea of a desktop, but i prefer portability. I am looking at a pretty good laptop in my opinion http://www.costco.com/Lenovo-Flex-3-Series-2-in-1-Touchscreen-Laptop-%7c-Intel-Core-i5-%7c-1080p.product.100245739.html > Currently the one I might go with. Any suggestion is appreciated. Note: I would like a backlit keyboard if possible. The Laptop linked above has a touchscreen and backlit keyboard so... Thanks Again - Nathan McConnell

that one is pretty good... lenovo are very reliable in my experience.

I wouldn't.  Lenovo IdeaPad Series is pretty shit, while the ThinkPad series is very reliable.  Have had bad experiences with IdeaPad products.

From my experience, The 15" models are generally the best bang for the buck. I would say and i5 and 8Gigs of Ram would be good. I personally also like Lenovo. I dont think the touch screen is necessary if you are not looking for the tablet experience. As you are paying extra for that touch screen. I would recommend looking at the Laptop manufactures websites and see what they are offer, then go check out retailers for the product. Id drop that touch screen and see if you can save some money or get an upgrade. I would also say for $500-$600 you should be able to find something decent.

I just want to sit back and watch the world burn.

The only problem is, I use the touch screen alot, as i am showing off my newest programs and letting users interact with it in tent mode would be helpful.
