Screen Capture Softwares

Go to solution Solved by suchamoneypit,

OBS wont set off any anti-cheat things. I use it.

Hi guys,

Wasn't sure where to post this but, was asked by a friend if something like OBS would interfere or cause issue's with Steams VAC system for example would it be detected and mistaken as a cheat client as surely it has to access the games file's in order to capture them I am not 100% sure of how it works so thought I would ask here first before I tell him if it's safe or not.

Thanks

I didn't think so I use it myself but I never really thought about it until a friend asked if it's safe with steams VAC system, I havent had any issues my self but I have only used it on steam games a couple times so just wanted to check with some users who have used it more than I have lol Thanks for the reply :D

I haven't heard that any screen/game recorder would cause such issues. After all, they are like VOIP (kype/TS3 etc,) or music players. Just working on top of all other software. I know that some peripherals driver software have in past caused issues with VAC and Punkbuster.
