bios update help

hi

i have an asus z170-a and an i5-6600k

i want to update the bios before i start overclocking

i would like to know how to update the bios safely because im worried i might brick the bios chip and my mobo doesnt have a second chip

Don't worry about updating the bios, it rarely ever adds significant stability.

You can download the latest bios from here: http://www.asus.com/us/Motherboards/Z170-A/HelpDesk_Download/

Normally you would put the file on a flash drive and within your computer's BIOS there should be an option to flash it from the flash drive. There's always a risk of damaging something I suppose but it very rarely happens.
