Will my adapter work?

I have an old vga monitor which i want to use to carry around with my ps3 when i go gaming with friends, except my ps3 uses hdmi,

will a vga to hdmi adapter work since you have the analog-digital difference?

If this doesn't work does anyone know another solution to my problem?

I have never tried one, but an adapter like this may work.
