Using Hyperx Cloud extension cable for DT770 Pro?

Go to solution Solved by Kickflapper,

gold plated connector and fancy cables are a waste of money, when it comes to audio, tv's, and other home electronics

So I'm about to buy the DT770 Pro 80 ohm version. I noticed that it has a 3meter long cable, which is maybe 30cm too short if I want to lay on my couch and watch some TV with my headphones.

I have a hyperx cloud laying around, and this one has a 2.1m extension cable, as in the top of this picture:

I'm sure I will be able to use that, but what about degrading sound quality? Will it be noticable or not?

Thanks

I don't think you will notice it at all. The gauge of the wire is a bigger factor. Also if you are really worried you can buy a portable headphone amp, but you should be just fine don't worry about it. Just make sure you have a good solid connection at each point.

Yes, just make sure the side are you plugging in, it the same side as the extension.

Unless you live in a radio/cell tower, you won't have any degrading sound quality or noise.

Allright, thanks!

Can anyone care to explain though how this is possible? Why is it, that a pretty damn decent pair of headphones like this, will sound just as good when plugged into a cheap extension cable that probably won't even cost €5?

Because even a shit cable still transfers like 99% of the signal
