Reinstall windows

so when i built my pc, i used the HDD that was in an another computer and had windows 7 on it. since i changed the motherboard and cpu, i had to reinstall windows. i bought the windows 7 install disk (didn't come with product key) to reinstall the OS. but now i updated to windows 10 so, if i change the motherboard and cpu again, i will have to reinstall the OS again but can i use the windows 7 disk to reinstall it or will i have to go buy a new copy. or can i write the product key down for windows 10 and go buy just the disk?

you can go to microsoft website and download a windows 10 install ISO and burn to DVD or copy to USB drive and install from there. Your Windows 7 key should work. HOWEVER you will only be able to switch motherboards if you own a retail copy. OEM copies are what are preinstalled on store bought computers and will not transfer if you get a new Mother board

so will it transfer again if i already transfered it before?

Yes, as long as you transferred it before and it activated
