Use HDMI to transfer data?

First off, I know this is in the wrong place. I didn't know where to put it... Mod/admins please move it :)

 

I was thinking, with the new HDMI standards coming out with 18gb bandwith, would you be able to transfer files with HDMI? It already transfers video which is data in a way and ethernet. Would this be possible? Like to transfer files between 2 notebooks that have HDMI ports?
