Hey there. I'm currently building a new rig on the cheap. Was planning on waiting to upgrade from my EVGA GTX 650 but was wondering if anyone knew what would be a good place to get something better. I cant really spend upwards of $300 on a new graphics card. I dont really know that much about AMD video cards either. So I dont know where to go our what to try and get. If anyone has any tips or information I'd me most appreciative. Thanks

My recommendation would be to wait for the new Polaris and Pascal coming out soon. The GTX 650 should able to last you until then.

If you're really itching for a new GPU, consider the R9 390 or the GTX 970 (the R9 390 is the more popular recommendation on this forum).

Be nice to each other boys and girls. And don't cheap out on a power supply.

Hi.

At this stage, the benefits of a GTX 950 would fit you perfectly especially if you currently have a 650. Even if you want to spend that little bit extra, go for a 960 because they have gotten real cheap and the performance is still really good (plays GTA V like a beast).

check amazon warehouse most of the products there are either customer return  cause it wasn't what they wanted or the boxes were damaged in shipping and they cant sell as new. they have a great return policy if you are a prime member. so basically you can test it and return it if you dont like it.

I forgot that telling what kind of games I'd be playing would be helpful. But basically its everything. Currently the newest game I will have is Total War: Warhammer, but I also have Farcry 3, Battlefield 3, and Fallout 4 for some examples. Basically my problem is I have very limited spending and need as much bang for the buck.

Thanks everyone who has commented so far this info is really helpful :)

Actually I would recommended OP gets the R9 380 instead. The R9 380 outperforms the GTX 960 in every single game except GTA V. Now, I don't know what games OP plays but I am guessing they do not spend all their time playing a single game so an R9 380 would be better.

Yes, but the 380 is more expensive. The 950 is competitive with the R7 370.
