Hi All,

 

I am considering getting this server for use at home. I am wanting to run backups and also run game servers from it. Do you know what software I could use that would be cheap and do everything I want it to do. Also do you think the server I chose will be good along with some WD Red HDD's

Hi.

 

This server is perhaps the crappiest server you could buy that is somewhat modern.

 

You're gonna have to probs build your own server but any machine will do that fine. Give it 32GB ECC RAM, a Xeon and a server motherboard.

 

As for software, try unRAID because that features everything.

 

Good luck man, servers are so difficult to configure.

This is just a small scale thing i dont need anything big and the server I chose is all i need
