Tt poseidon: double-click issue

So I've started to experience this issue with my tt poseidon (cherry mx brown) some time ago: when I press spacebar key it types 2 or even 3 spaces instead of 1, it  happens quite often actually. I have this kb for 2 years now. Cleaning didn't help.

Has somebody faced such problem? I heard, this is a quite common issue with tt's keyboards. Don't wanna buy new keyboard because of one broken switch, but this thing's driving me nuts.

Are you good at taking things apart and soldering? If you are, you can buy the individual switches, desolder the first switch and resolder a new switch on the pads.

Well, kinda... But they're hard to buy here and I also don't have much time to mess with it. I actually found a warranty ticket and a cheque, but manufacturer says it's 24 month warranty, still it's writen as 12 month on the cheque. I think I should give it a try and visit them - I have like 10 days left to do that

I went through this process with my Poseidon Z, and in my experience the RMA team was very nice (from the USA at least) and it's a smooth experience, so you should be fine.

I've heard you can increase the bounce time in Windows so it won't register extra clicks.

Yeah, but they refused to RMA it in the store since they give 1 year warranty, but the manufacturer gives 2. I sent a message to the Tt, but I'm not sure if they will answer me in time - I have only 10 days of  this warranty left. If this won't help, I will just replace this switch with new one, no problem here. I love this keyboard.

Yeah I kinda managed to configure this for now, not a 'legit' solution anyways

 

If I won't be able to repair this kb, I will just get some fork of cherry's original kb.

Yep, but it's written 2 years on the warranty ticket, included in the box, same on Tt's website.

The delivery from massdrop to my location will cost me like $20-30 - too much in case kb costs ~$100

There's no big deal for me to replace this one manually, but I'm worried about this issue, because as this spacebar switch died, others can do the same at any time.

Switches go bad all the time. I have a Cougar board with at least 3 inconsistent cherry mx blue switches. 

 

I decided to go with a team wolf void Ray ciy now which makes it easy to replace and customize switches.

Thanks, will mind  this.

Also, strange thing appeared now - no fn keys are  working on windows 8.1 with this kb. I connected it to my Mac pro and it works fine here. So much pain.

Okay, so I finally solved this issue. Just posting it in case someone will face same problem and will be looking for the solution.

Since the spacebar switch was broken (double-click) and I didn't want to buy new keyboard or new switches, I replaced it with the "scroll lock" key switch - it was easy and quick. Everything's fine now.
