If you instist on using wifi, I'd recommend getting a better card. With 2tb drives you can get a single 2tb drive cheaper than 2 1tb drives. At that price I'd buy an old laptop or desktop from someone or at least use ebay.

Spend a bit more and get some NAS hard drives otherwise standard hard drives will die quickly and you'll have to spend more money replacing them, with  AM1 hardware you want to max out the CPU so you don't have to worry about upgrading it, and this board has 4 sata ports, so you can expand your storage, you also want at minimum 8gbs of RAM espeically if you're running zfs on freeNAS

and don't use that built in PSU man, is it even 80 plus anything? you're probably going to want something gold rated if you're worried about power usage.

and like above, don't use wireless for your NAS, it won't be nearly as fast/stable as just going through a router/switch

a NAS is really something you don't want to cheap out too much on, even if it's low end

I think Western Digital makes a 2 bay NAS box thing that isn't the worst, but you have way more options with building a PC as a NAS obviously

or there's the WD My Cloud stuff, which probably has some issues but might be enough for your needs at $130 ish for a 2TB thing, dunno if it comes with a drive though

It's not bad from a cost perspective, but keep in mind that running a NAS over WiFi isn't the best idea, unless you've got some higher end WiFi components.

Hopefully all goes well, but usually at some point you'll have a random dropped connection during a large file transfer that makes it inconvenient...

I want to have the processor be a newer processor from the past 2-3 years because I don't want the power consumption to be very high and I want to have some redundancy because its going to be used to backup my files on my desktop and laptop and I don't want to have a single drive that if it flat out dies I don't want to loose all my files I rather have 2 drives of a lower capacity in a duplication raid (raid 1) to allow room for one drive to be able to die without loosing all of my data

If you're worried about your data you're going to want better hard drives than what you have there, you'll also want to buy a UPS/Battery Back up for it in case of a power outage, it gives you time to shut it down

here, 2 1TB WD red drives, they're made to be in a NAS

I agree its a better idea to go with the wd red drives and they are only $10 more per drive also would my origional selection of case/psu be fine because I really want to keep the computer small as I don't have alot of room to put the NAS

Here I revised the partlist keeping the old ITX case but I added more memory, a better psu, and replaced the seagates with the wd reds:

Buy an elite 110 case if you want a tiny case, it supports up to 3 hard drives, you can probably find a spot in it to mount a 4th to saturate the 4 slots on the board
