SSD Choice $60 240GB

16 members have voted

  1. 1. Which one

    • OCZ Trion 150
    • Crucial BX200
    • PNY CS1311
    • ADATA SP550
    • Other (Samsung is too pricey) (post down below)

I have already made a similar post about this, but that was mainly debating which storage device to chose. But this time I want to choose which one to actually buy. This is going to replace my ARC 100 240GB on my desktop (gaming and browsing- no common large file transfers on the SSD) so I could put my ARC 100 in my laptop. Which 240GB SSD should I get in the $60 price range.

My System:

Intel Core i5-4690k  / Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Asus Z97-AR MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 100me Corsair Vengeance LP 1600Mhz 2x4GB DDR3 Samsung 850 EVO 250GB / Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD / NZXT S340 EVGA SuperNOVA G1 650W / Windows 10 Home 64 / AOC G2460PQU 1080p 144hz / Corsair VOID Wireless RGB Razer Taipan Laser Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014

My Laptop (Asus X55C-DS31):

Intel Core i3-2370M @ 2.4Ghz 6GB RAM / OCZ ARC100 240GB SSD /

My Phone:

OnePlus Three Graphite Black / 64GB

My Watch:

Moto 360 1st Generation

I've had my crucial SSD for nearly 4 years now. It does what it says, it's fast. I personally like the little logo from crucial too :P although, I imagine any of those should do fine.

Buy the mSATA version of the 850 Evo and get a mSATA to SATA adapter saves a ton of money

500GB version is 158 on amazon

250GB is 88 bucks

same speed as 2.5" form factors

Edit: Adapter

While the Samsung is going for $88 the others are going for $60, so I really understand your argument.

They are legendary for their failure rates and slow speed compared to the other similarly priced SSDs just search on Google V300 review and you will find out why

If I have solved your issue, please mark the thread as solved! Thanks!

I have an SP550 120GB in my system and I'm very happy with it. I would have been happier if it came with a SATA cable to connect it... -___-

I don't think I am going to get it. It doesn't really compare to the the other devices. It is quite a bit slower for only a few bucks cheaper.

I think I will get the OCZ Trion 150. I like the the OCZ Trion 150 looks better, and the PNY CS1311 and OCZ Trion 150 are pretty much the same. The OCZ Trion 150 is faster for smaller transfers, but the PNY CS1311 is better for large transfers.
