New Laptop

My neighbor just bought a new laptop that came with Windows 10 preinstalled. It's an HP 15-f233wm. He's about 86 years old and isn't very tech literate and thus isn't very familiar with Windows 10, and quite frankly, thus far W10 has been a headache for me since the Wi-Fi randomly decided to crap out on me and his Netzero wireless modem isn't working well with it. My question is, would it be a good idea to just downgrade to Windows 7 (since he's more familiar) and skip all the W10 related headache, or would I run into any driver problems?

You should be fine downgrading. I'd personally install a simple linux distro, but that's just me.
