Ok cool. Neither drives have any overly important files, pretty much just Apps and the OS.  Is there any reason why you voted for the BX200 over the Trion 150? Thank you again.

Actually, having looked at a few quick reviews, I change my vote: The Trion 150 has better sustained write speeds. The BX200, once the cache fills up, will literally drop to HDD speeds (Like 80 MB/s sustained large file writes).

You likely wouldn't notice that in normal operation, unless you were transferring a large number of huge files, but it could still happen.

What's the price difference between the 2?

Which would you recommend?

  2. 2. Which SSD?

    • OCZ Trion 150
    • Crucial BX200

Hello!

I am afraid to say, I believe my laptop (not main pc, just for portability) 500GB HDD is dying. So I have made up my mind, and decided to replace it. I am only using 200GB of storage so I think the SSD would be best, but I would like to know what you guys would do. I currently have an OCZ Arc 100 240GB on my Desktop, but the (Trion150/ BX200) is faster. So I would like to put the new SSD (Trion150/BX200) into my desktop and put my ARC100 into my laptop. How could I do this without clean installing on both drives, but just cloning them? Thanks

My System:

Intel Core i5-4690k  / Cooler Master Hyper 212 Evo Asus Z97-AR MSI Nvidia GeForce GTX 970 100me Corsair Vengeance LP 1600Mhz 2x4GB DDR3 Samsung 850 EVO 250GB / Seagate Barracuda 1TB 3.5" 7200RPM HDD / NZXT S340 EVGA SuperNOVA G1 650W / Windows 10 Home 64 / AOC G2460PQU 1080p 144hz / Corsair VOID Wireless RGB Razer Taipan Laser Razer Blackwidow Ultimate 2014

My Laptop (Asus X55C-DS31):

You could clone them, but you'll need to do it in a bit of a "round-about" fashion.

Basically, you'll need to clone the Desktop onto the new SSD. Then you can pop out the OCZ drive and clone your laptop HDD onto it.

Please note, if the laptop HDD is actually dying, you may experience corrupted data. If so, the cloning process may fail, or might produce errors/instability. You should backup any important data before proceeding with EITHER clone job.

For Sale: Meraki Bundle

iPhone Xr 128 GB Product Red - HP Spectre x360 13" (i5 - 8 GB RAM - 256 GB SSD) - HP ZBook 15v G5 15" (i7-8850H - 16 GB RAM - 512 GB SSD - NVIDIA Quadro P600)

Well actually on Amazon the OCZ Trion150 is a about $2 cheaper.

I'd probably just go with the OCZ then, personally, out of those two drives.
