So I've been looking into the Razer Blade Stealth and the New Razer Blade to be used with a Razer Core, but I want to know if anyone out there can attest to the performance of using the Razer Core.

Specifically, has anyone compared the gaming performance of one of the two laptops with the Razer Core plugged in with a dGPU to a desktop with similar specs? I'm wondering if the Thunderbolt connection is truly bottlenecking the dGPU's throughput, and thus affecting performance.

If not a comparison to a desktop, does anyone currently own either a Razer Blade Stealth or New Razer Blade and can attest to it's performance? Benchmarks would be nice, too.

Thank you in advance.

Core is 500$ for the chassis
you pay for the GPU and PSU separately

The Blade Stealth has a weak CPU so it bottlenecks anything above a 380X
Blade 2016 runs hot and loud since the cooling is barely enough

The 2016 blades are not yet shipping to the general public; nor is the core -- so except for individuals with preview models, you're going to have to wait for anything beyond guesstimates.

I'm searching daily on google and youtube for published reviews of the new blade; as well as core numbers - haven't yet seen any yet.

Oh wow -- didn't see this -- do you have links to the reviews showing its run temps; that I could read?

Thanks!

I even recall Linus saying "It's hot, loud and thermalthrottles" about the blade in the 980 Sager review

In the video you're referring to, he's talking about his Razer Blade 14" from 2014 or 2015, not the Razer Blade Stealth or Razer Blade 2016.

I'm sure that the the Stelth or Blade 2016 still thermal throttle quite a bit though. I'm just looking for a possible replacement for my current laptop (Asus G46VW) that relatively light but can game decently.

Lenovo Y700?
Dell Inspiron 7559?
MSI GE62?
Asus GL552VW?
Acer V17? (V15 is a mess)
