Hi all.

For everyone wanting to do a water cooling PC with an all in one loop, do NOT buy the Lepa Aqua changer 240.

I bought this and it's loud AS FUCK. I tried to OC 4790K with this to 4.5 and it was around 70 on load. I hate it that high and saw someone with way lower on air.... Maybe I did something wrong but I'm probably going to be buying a new one very soon. Way too loud and doesnt work like I thought it would...

you do understand that voltage, thermals and speed are all part of the silicon lottery?

no guarantees on temps, voltage or speed unless it has already been through the "binning" process.

ive had three 4790k with a range of temps, voltage needed and general overclock settings.

RMA/return (for noise pump or fans?) the aio and try another or go air cooling, but note voltage is a lot of issues as well as the CPU mount process.

70° under 100% load is well within tolerances and poses no threat of short lived usage. especially if you did not increase the voltage.

Sometimes you get a bad chip on the CPU lotto. Try re-seating your cooler and using another method of thermal application. Some CPU's Thermal paste under the CPU heat spreader is sometimes just poorly done. How I like to check to see if I did not win the CPU lotto, is monitor your temps for quite a bit of time and see if there are huge differences between temp of all 4/8 cores. OC with the cooler you have right now and see how much more you can get it too. 70 for a AIO seems fair even if its a 240mm. Give a reply back after the tips I gave and maybe we can trouble shoot this a bit more.

@airdeano Apparently the fans are just loud by themselves.... Might buy some Noctua's to quiet it down. I probably need to re-apply thermal or get a better type. I used stock which is normally fine but i could spend $5 and get much better.

@Pieri I really don't know enough about OC'ing and don't want to break my 1,500 PC that works great. I just know I can get more from it.

Included a CPU-Z picture of voltz and stuffs.

4.4Mhz / 60-70 c after a small 5 min test with Intel tuning. I know it's not the best but it still stresses it enough that I can see if it's okay.

Thanks for the reply.

Yea! So kinda look at it like this. Core 123 have a 5 to 5+ degree in  difference in thermals.

Similar to something like this coming from my i7

the thermal paste under the heat spreader is garbage and can cause super problems in CPU temps across all boards. For your case, Core 4 could have been covered pretty well with compound while core 1 could have been covered not so well. Have you ever looked up Delidding a CPU? If your ballzy enough to do it id do it, it drops temps super well dependent on CPU's.

No way in hell I would do that, lol. But are the temps bad for 4.4? Like, I saw a guy @ 4.7 on air @ 60c

Its all in the CPU lotto man. Like I said some chips get the super good high OC's with good thermals, some get stuck at 4.3 @ 90C its not pretty.

Alright, well.... Rip. What's "too" high where it's deadly to your cpu? I kinda want 4.6

4670k sat here at 4.8ghz under 1.4v but I delidded so, temps stay under 90c too.

You should be able to get more overclock speed out of that chip if you increase the voltage. Your temps are fine. Some chips also just have better thermal interface between the die and the IHS, so they transfer heat to the CPU block better.

very rarely, most common delidded chips are haswell and Devil's canyon, Skylake seems to do very well but most people delid them anyway to bring temps down more. Less heat better the chip can use the volts and amps so needs less, that's why a guy I know with a TEC set up has his 4670k at 5.2ghz with less voltage than I need for my 4.8ghz overclock.

See, from what i've heard voltage fucking scares me. Maybe one of you could talk to me on skype or something. I know my PC has much more potential then what im letting it do.

I agree. I also just realized that his picture was for 4.4Ghz at 1.236V. I thought it was his max overclock for some reason.

IS 1.2V low for 4.4? Idfk. Volts scare me.

It's fine. If you can keep the temps below 80 during stress tests and the volts below 1.3V, you're probably okay. Some go over 1.35 or even to 1.4, but 1.3V and below is generally safe for 24/7. I'm at 1.295V with 4.7ghz on my 4790k. Not great, but that's just the luck of the draw with this chips.

Plus, after tuning the system with a manual voltage, I set it back to adaptive in BIOS. My windows power management is set to Balanced, so I'm only at 1.295V when the system needs it. It fact, it's at 0.72V as I write this since the core is running at 800mhz.

me and you literally have the same overclock haha but im on a i54690k https://imgur.com/Uwb7TXm. i also had the same overclock as OP before @ 4.4 for 1.2v
