Should I overclock

oopolo

I just bought an MSI GeForce GTX 970 but my CPU is bottlenecking it so I tought I should overclock it sience I don´t have the money for a new one.

My sistem is: Pro:AMD FX 6300 six core,RAM:16 2x8,GPU:GeForce GTX 970,OS:windows 10 (64bits),PSU:EVGA 500w.

try overclocking and see if it helps, but that bottleneck shouldn't be that bad

to game or not to game, that`s the question

What CPU cooler do you have on your fx6300? and which motherboard is it sitting in? if it's a 970 chipset, then you won't be able to overclock very far and also risk frying your motherboard's VRMs as the lower end AMD 970  motherboards can't handle the extra power. Also to consider is that your PSU is already being pushed pretty hard as I'm assuming is the 500B from EVGA which is a decent PSU but is only 80+ bronze and can just handle the gtx 970 with a 95W TDP CPU in the fx 6300

I did some research and I found that AMD has a software to overclock and you can do it from the BIOS.Wich one should I use?
