Static Electricity

Go to solution Solved by Naeaes,

Yup. It's fine on the outside. The case is grounded and even if it wasn't, it's a huge chunk of metal on it's own, so there's really nothing you can do to apply static to the components from the outside of it. Go for it, man! Don't go dusting in the inside thou. That's compressed air and vacuuming only.

Can a Swiffer Duster be used to remove dust from the outside of a PC case without the risk of static electricity causing harm to the components?

Also, can any microfiber cloth be used on the outside of the case to clean it, again without the risk of static electricity?

Welcome to the Forums!

For cleaning the exterior of a case using a microfiber is probbaly best as it tends to pickup dust and dirt quite well and it wouldn't be any risk really for just cleaning the outside of the case.
