What are your opinions on this build? Are these parts compatible/are worth getting? The store I am getting these parts from does not have the Seasonic 360W 80+ Gold power supply I originally wanted, and I think this is the next best power supply. I probably will only spend a couple of hours a week on my computer :P Here are the actual places I am buying it from, does not show on pcpartpicker website. Are these parts compatible? Also, what is a tutorial in building a PC that best resembles these parts that I am purchasing?

Case: http://www.msy.com.au/vic/mitcham/pc-components/2716-corsair-200r-carbide-200r-black-mid-tower-case-without-psu.html

Note: I am not interested in getting windows from a third-party website.

Note 2: I only intend to youtube/research online, use MS Office, play hearthstone/other non demanding games, primarily used for school work/sometimes games.

Note 3: The seasonic 360W gold+ power supply is not available at the store I am purchasing these parts from, so I am settling for the corsair 430W bronze PSU.

What is wrong with the corsair PSU?

ill assume you meant psu because corsair doesnt make cpu (or do they? o.O)

they use cheap components in that series of psu

corsair makes great psu(like the AX, RM, and HX) and bad ones (like the CX, and CS)

its not about the brand, its about the model :P

its best that you just refer to this list

find a tier 1 or tier 2 500~600W psu if you're planning on adding a gpu into your system

find a tier 1 to tier 3 400~500W psu if you're just going to use your setup as it is for a long period of times

well it'll be fine for normal pc without a heavy load, so your current build should be fine with it

but if you plan on adding a gpu, you wanna consider a better psu because the current draw of a gpu isnt a light load on the psu at all lol

So I am assuming this gold+ one isn't much better? http://www.msy.com.au/vic/mitcham/home/12612-corsair-cs450m-450watt-80plus-gold-atx-power-supply-unit.html

could you look around the http://www.msy.com.au/vic/mitcham/ website for a suitable psu?

well are you going to add a gpu in the future? (if yes, then low end or mid range? or high end? o.O)

Will something like this be better than the cx430m?

the cx is tier 4, whereas the cs is tier 3 ;)

Alright, well for the time being without the GPU, would the cs or cx be more reliable?

You said the cx would do fine, but the website shows the cx as tier 4 and should be avoided.. The cs however is tier 3, but you said the cx 430m would do?

for light load, its fine since you're not even using half the wattage it can provide so any would do fine

if you have to pick which is better, the list will provide you with the answers `-`

So I am opting for the http://www.msy.com.au/vic/mitcham/pc-components/12170-antec-hcg-520m-520w-high-current-gamer-modular-gaming-psu.html Antec HCG 520W PSU. What do you think? It's tier 2 on the list, but costs about $30 AUD more than the CX430M. Also, it's 520W allows plenty of room for a GPU in the future right?

yeap, its not bad if its tier 2

520W is enough to power a mid-range and below gpu (like the gtx 970)

im pretty sure this is the right xfx for tier 2. Would the antec HCG be better or this one? They're both in tier 2

if both psu is in the same tier, i would refer to jonnyguru and see their pros, cons and mediocre points to see which one suits me better

Functionality and performance is what I am after, and based on what JG said, the antec HCG seems better. Although it is a different antec HCG - 700. And the one I'm getting is 520.

well normally the good parts gets carried along the series, so its fine :P
i would get the HCG too, since the pro series have 12v voltage regulating issues which might cause instability lol

edit: though JG's review mentioned his results is not consistent with other website and found out the 12v rail is only fluctuating 1% lol
but the HCG is still better :P
