Hello there I am looking for some advice on both heaphones and desk mic's, I dont have much expieriance in this department so I thought I would ask you, the lovely community for some friendly help and advice, so first of all I need to explain what I will be using these things for starting with the headphones.

So the headphones I want must be bluetooth, this is important becuase I need headphones that can be used for both my PC and my Hauwei Mediapad X2 and hate having wires in the way when on the move, I am not allways at my PC and when I am not I am on my phablet, I realise that I could get a seperate pare of headphones for my PC and Phablet but the point in all of this is I am trying to optimize my life a little, this is exactly why I bought a Hauwei Mediapad X2 in the first place so that I wouldnt need to carry a phone and tablet with me at the same time, in terms of headphones I am looking for a nice balance between optimal gaming sound quality and rich music sound quality, In terms of battery life I am not looking for battery life out the wazoo so a nice medium battery life is ok with me, I am looking for headphones between the £100 to £200 mark.

In terms of optimizing my life I realised I would be better off with a desk mounted microphone instead of a microphone attached to my headset, in terms of microphone I do share a living area with my best friend who's desk is nearby mine so I am looking for a decent pickup but not too powerful as I want to cuase as little sound loop as possible when me and them are in a group chat with multiple other people, in terms of size I am completely not bothered, I do have a decent amount of space on my desk but ether way a mic and arm combo wouldnt go amiss anyway I am not directly set on a desk stand, I will be using this mic for personal 1 on 1 and group calls over steam, team speak and skype aswell as I might be doing some streaming in the future, In terms of price I am willing to go upto around £150 but I am negotiable.

Thanks for reading this far and thankyou even more to anybody willing to give some advice on products and best wishes to you all. x

I have not read the whole thing, but you want a bluetooth mic right?

Before you buy amp and dac.  My thoughts on the M50x  Ultimate Ears Reference monitor review I might have a thing for audio...

My main Headphones and IEMs:  K612 pro, HD 25 and Ultimate Ears Reference Monitor, HD 580 with HD 600 grills

DAC and AMP: RME ADI 2 DAC

Speakers: Genelec 8040, System Audio SA205

Receiver: Denon AVR-1612

Desktop: R7 1700, GTX 1080  RX 580 8GB and other stuff

Laptop: ThinkPad P50: i7 6820HQ, M2000M. ThinkPad T420s: i7 2640M, NVS 4200M

Feel free to pm me if you have a question for me or quote me. If you want to hear what I have to say about something just tag me.

Oh no Mic can be non Bluetooth, the headphones are a must on the Bluetooth though

Sound quality goes down when you go bluetooth. When that is said maybe the Sony MDR10RBT + a snowball maybe?

for the Sony  MDR10RBT it was something I looked at, but personally I think they look overly masculin, they did get great reviews and there something I will keep in mind, but in terms of bluetooth headphones they are on the biggest side of the charts, my head is quite small and my hair is past my boobs so I worry they will look a little... odd, as for the Snowball, yeah I did see allot of people suggest it and it seems like a solid choice, I was going to see what people suggested though in terms of things that maybe have a few more features etc.

Thanks all the same I apreciate your reply ^^

Perhaps consider something like the Voxoa BTunes: http://thebtunes.com

http://www.head-fi.org/t/784505/review-of-voxoa-btunes-vxb-bluetooth-4-0-apt-x-adapter-don-t-just-cut-your-headphones-wire-get-rid-of-it

It would allow you the freedom to go Bluetooth as/when needed, but still have a fully competent wired headphone for other times. (Basically any headphone for greater flexibility).

You would need a pair with a detachable cable, and most likely, one that does so without leaving a short cable at the earcup. They do sell models for proprietary connectors but I'd steer away from those and get a pair of headphones with standard 3.5mm removable cable.

I've never been a huge fan of the Blue Snowball, so I would recommend going with the Audio-Technica AT2020USB for your microphone: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Audio-Technica-AT2020USB-PLUS-USB-Microphone/dp/B00B5ZX9FM/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1459292628&sr=8-2&keywords=at-2020

For headphones, I would look into some of Bose' offerings, as they tend to be on the smaller side. If you're okay with On Ear headphones, and extending your budget by £10 this might be a solid choice: http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bose-SoundLink-Ear-Bluetooth-Headphones/dp/B00M58CMYC/ref=sr_1_2?s=electronics&ie=UTF8&qid=1459293865&sr=1-2&keywords=bose+bluetooth+headphones

Another option, is to go with the V-Moda Crossfade Wireless http://www.amazon.co.uk/V-MODA-Crossfade-Wireless-Over-Ear-Headphone/dp/B015R7AGHC/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459293511&sr=8-1&keywords=v-moda+wireless, which is slightly above your budget, but will allow you to save money in the microphone department because you can use the BoomPro Mic http://www.amazon.co.uk/V-MODA-BoomPro-Gaming-Headphone-Microphone-Black/dp/B00BJ17WKK/ref=pd_bxgy_23_img_2?ie=UTF8&refRID=099JQ3MPVB20AZBR77NV

random thing I know its not important, but the Audio-Technica AT2020USB is quite eye pleasing to me for some reasson lol so thanks for that, in terms of the Bose on ear headphones, I worry that they wont give the same gamming performance in First Person shooters as over ear headphones would, feel free to point me out as being wrong there if I am.

In terms of the V-Moda's I love the military grade components they use but they are very masculin, I would feel a little self conscious wearing them out and about on the train and such, they would probably make very good indoors headphones though all the same :3

I personally take the aesthetics of audio equipment into consideration when making a purchase, so I get where you're coming from. I mean, if I have to stare at it all the time, it better not be an eyesore. :) Another microphone option, and the one that I personally use is the Rode NT-USB. The inclusion of a pop filter is fantastic, and it's nice having a pop filter that follows the general design of the microphone opposed to most of them. http://www.amazon.co.uk/RODE-NT-USB-Rode-Microphone/dp/B00KQPGRRE/ref=sr_1_1?ie=UTF8&qid=1459371675&sr=8-1&keywords=rode+nt+usb

I personally would try and find a pair of over ear headphones, as I don't like pressure being applied to my ears. Bose does make such a pair, but they exceed your budget by £30.  http://www.amazon.co.uk/Bose-SoundLink-Around-Ear-Wireless-Headphones/dp/B0117RGD0K/ref=sr_1_2?ie=UTF8&qid=1459372120&sr=8-2&keywords=bose+soundlink+around+ear

Unfortunately, it's difficult finding that balance between sound quality and pleasing aesthetics, when it comes to wireless headphones.
