Problem: Computer is randomly turning off, all PCI and PCI-e slots other than the one for my graphics card are dead (nothing detected, unable to reinstall drivers as the device isn't detected). Once the PC does turn off I am unable to turn it back on, all usb devices (e.g. phone) have power but to turn the PC back on I have to turn off the PSU and turn it on again and it works for max 10 minutes.

So ATM I am asking myself is it the PSU that is stopping the power to the PC (shutting it down) or is it the motherboard and the motherboard is already dodgy anyway (all but 2 usb failed 2 months ago and now the PCI slots have seemingly failed). Also should note temps are really low as I have a custom water loop (cpu 50'c gpu 40'c max).

Specs:

ASUS Z87-plus board (latest bios)

G-Skillz ripjawz 16GB

Gigabyte 980ti

Coolermaster G750M PSU

Windows 10 64bit

Corsair M400 240GB SSD

Just because the PCIE slots aren't detected doesn't mean they're dead. If you have nothing plugged in to them, they won't appear as detected.

If you know the slots are really out, then I personally think it's your motherboard.

Your 24 pin is plugged in ALL the way right?

Sorry should have elaborated, I have a pci-e sound card and WiFi card and a pci network card, none of which are detected anymore despite all working yesterday, tried every slot but nothing.

Regarding the 20+4pin I have replugged it a few times now making sure it is all the way in.

Also to update it just turned off again but this time I pulled the 20+4 out and paper clip tested it and it works. Plugging it back in to the mobo and I still can't turn it on so I think that confirms it's not the psu then?
