Steam won't work.

It just says "Steam needs to be online to update. Please confirm your network connection and try again."

 

My internet works.

 

ALSO: Chrome does not work either, only Microsoft Edge.

Intel Core i7 4790 CPU  - Stock cooler - Gigabyte GTX 1080 GPU

 

Asrock Z97 Pro4 Motherboard - HyperX 16GB DDR3 1866 MHz Ram (Dual Channel) - Cooler Master V750 PSU

Your using steam in offline mode, shut down steam using task manager then start it back up.

I don't see it in Task Manager.

Something is messed up with your Windows Firewall or ethernet drivers or wireless Wi-Fi driver.

 

Lazy option:

'Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Recovery' if you have no restore points and you are on Windows 10 go to settings>update and security>recovery and reset the Computer.

 

Manual option: 

Disable ALL Firewall and Windows Firewall make sure you are connected with a RJ-45 cable and try again.
