Audio problems.

Go to solution Solved by astrosheen,

can you plug your headset into the green audio jack at the back and try that?

My newly built computer, it's my first build, is running fine. I have only encountered one problem so far and thats what I'm hoping someone can help me figure out. My motherboard should come with a quite decent sound system so I disn't invest in a sound card.

So here's the problem, whenever I plug in a headset either in my keyboard, that's conected with another audio jack to the pc, or when I plug it directly into my computer all sound that comes out is loud popping, cracking, buzzing and screeching. This sound is constent, whenever I turn on a video the weird sounds follow the audio from the video. When the video audio increases the buzzing, popping... increases with it. When I press my keyboard my headset makes a noice and when I move my mouse it does aswell. I'm using a smaller tv as a monitor atm and the hdmi audio comes out loud and clear from the speakers, so the audio in itself should be fine. I've tested multiple headsets and the all give the same results. I've also tried them on another source to confirm that they are working.

My motherboard is an ASUS B58M-GAMER, my GPU is an MSI GTX 980 4G, the case is a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M and my OS is Windows 8.1 Pro. For drivers I got the latest downloaded for my audio directly from the ASUS website. I don't know what to do at this point.

Any help is very much appriciated, thank you :)

As in if I'm plugged in the front or the back? I'm currently using the front as there isn't really a direct plugin for my headset in the back. I see I forgot to include the case in my orginal post, maybe that can help out a bit. The case is a Phanteks Enthoo Pro M.

Thank you. That did the trick. Can't believe it was that simple, and here I've been trying to run all kind of fancy things to fix it.

So that could be due to a couple thing

1. Interference from other cables. Try to run the front audio cable by itself.

2. (More likely) there is an issue somewhere between the front panel audio header on the motherboard and the 3.5mm jack on your case
