I was recently shopping on Ebay for a relatively cheep Raid card for my home server that i am thinking about building and I found this card, the LSI 3Ware 9650SE-24M8 9650SE-24MB 24-Port SATA PCIe RAID Controller from ecrater.

I was wondering what on earth a Multi lane connector is, and also if it can be converted to an sff 8087 connector.

Any information is much appreciated.

I'm about 80% sure that 'Multi-Lane' is just another term for an 8087 connector. There seems to be a 3Ware brand 8087 to SATA cable for sale on amazon that seems to confirm this: http://www.amazon.com/3WARE-Cable-Multi-lane-Internal-SFF-8087/dp/B000FBYS2U
