Budget Build for a Friend

This is a build I made for my friend. The computer is going to mainly be used for gaming. The budget is around $650, however we went over a bit. We are in the U.S. and he need a monitor, keyboard, mouse, and windows key. (The case is marked as purchased, because I am giving him my old case)

Does he really need 2TB of storage? And an I3 with a Z board?

If you're on a budget, go for a mATX motherboard. Cut down the 2TB storage and the Z97. Save some cash by grabbing Windows off the MicrosoftSoftwareSwap subreddit:

Yes, he does lots of video editing and is into photography. He will need the storage. Also I can change the board, Z board is pointless for a non-overclockable chip.

If he does video editing he needs CORES! Like 4 minimum but 6+ is preferred. I wouldn't recommend lower than a 750ti or a redeon 370. An SSD is recommended but not required, however 16gb of memory is required. If you like my build but think its too expensive: cut the 3tb HHD for a 1 or 2tb, cut the Optical drive, get a cheaper PSU, get a cheaper case.

You can get Windows and Office for free if you guys have student emails at ontheub.com

No problem haha. I read the title and already had that build together on my part picker as the "Console Destroyer" and just sent it and forgot to change the items around. When I first made it, its was only $700. Didn't see the prices change.
