Reinstalling windows sounds like a good idea yeah, but see if you can do a chkdsk of the drive first. Suspect a reinstallation could hide a potential harddrive problem.

Possibilities:

 -> You need to install your SATA controller driver IN Windows Setup screen (at the screen where you select which drive/partition you want to install Windows, you have a blue link called "Load Drivers", use the latest SATA controller or motherboard chipset drivers. You want the extracted drivers on a USB flash drive or disk. Keep in mind that the drivers needs to be extracted as Windows is not actually installed to run exe's and extract compressed files.

 

-> Bad SATA cable. It can happen, and does funny things.

-> Bad SSD/HDD.

 

I would replace your SATA cable to be sure, and make sure it is correctly plugged in. And re-install Windows with the SATA controller/Motherboard chipset drivers on hand, as explained above.
