I honestly do not understand how HDMI is better than DVI, please go on and enthrall me as to why you believe such a thing.

They are almost nearly the same. DVI caps at 1080i. HDMI being 1080p obviously. HDMI lets you get a progressive scan on the image giving you a better quality image. So yeah. There you go. Blurry vs Clear image.

This information is not correct at all.

Besides audio (which can be supported by DVI via HDCP), the only advantage HDMI might have is support for YPbPr color. Beyond that DVI matches or exceeds HDMI in every way.

One of my Sony Reps said there was a slight difference in interlace vs progressive when it comes to them. He has been working at Sony for nearly 20 years so I am kind of inclined to believe him when he said hdmi > dvi since he works with it every single day at a big company.

Yall be forgetting one thing DVI does 120HZ !!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Also sure HDMI can do audio but what does an extra audio cable connected to your sound card mean to you? I'm sure its better sound than whatever the HDMI is plugged into.

Well I'm sure Sony is convinced HDMI is superior, they're the ones behind it after all...

I am using DVI right now with progressive scan so that pretty much settles it for me, you can test if for yourself if you want.  Anyway, a minimum support of 640x480 with progressive scan is part of the DVI specification itself.
